Transcriptomic Response of L. monocytogenes to Co-Culture with S. cerevisiae

چکیده

The aim of the present study was to assess transcriptomic response L. monocytogenes during co-culture with three S. cerevisiae strains. For this purpose, BHI broth inoculated 7 log CFU?mL?1 serotype 4b strain LQC 15257, isolated from a strawberry sample and 4 strains Y32, Y34 Y37, spontaneous olive fermentation. Sampling took place after 24 48 h incubation at 5 20 °C. RNA extracted, stabilized transcription virulence associated genes prfA, sigB, hly, plcA, plcB, inlA, inlB, inlC inlJ, assessed by RT-qPCR. Co-culture yeast mostly affected sigB upregulation which growth °C for h, reached 10.13 9.76 log2(fold change), respectively. Similarly, effect that time had on relative under dependent co-cultivating strain. On other hand, less pronounced when between In case, temperature seemed have an important since, in 79.2% samples analyzed, evident, irrespective presence. These results highlight complex trophic relationships take co-existence cerevisiae.

Optimization of Culture Conditions for Enrichment of Saccharomyces cerevisiae with Dl-α-Tocopherol by Response Surface Methodology

Designing enriched probiotic supplements may have some advantages including protection of probiotic microorganism from oxidative destruction, improving enzyme activity of the gastrointestinal tract and probably increasing half-life of micronutrient. In this study Saccharomyces cerevisiae enriched with α-tocopherol produced as an accumulator and transporter of a lipid soluble vitamin for the fir...

Transcriptomic response of Listeria monocytogenes to iron limitation and Fur mutation.

Iron is required by almost all bacteria, but concentrations above physiological levels are toxic. In bacteria, intracellular iron is regulated mostly by the ferric uptake regulator, Fur, or a similar functional protein. Iron limitation results in the regulation of a number of genes, especially those involved in iron uptake. A subset of these genes is the Fur regulon under the control of Fur. In...

Substrate‐dependent transcriptomic shifts in Pelotomaculum thermopropionicum grown in syntrophic co‐culture with Methanothermobacter thermautotrophicus

Pelotomaculum thermopropionicum is a syntrophic propionate-oxidizing bacterium that catalyses the intermediate bottleneck step of the anaerobic-biodegradation process. As it thrives on a very small energy conserved by propionate oxidation under syntrophic association with a methanogen, its catabolic pathways and regulatory mechanisms are of biological interest. In this study, we constructed hig...
